Community Impact
The East End Boys Club’s primary goals are to keep members in school, helping them make positive
choices, staying away from drugs and gangs, and teaching them to be people of good character. We
strive for members to show empathy for those in need through their good work and community
involvement.
The Necessities of Life Program will help reduce the financial burden to families in need. Many of our
members and their families are provided with groceries and other essentials on a monthly basis. This
allows our members to have the basic necessities they need to focus on building confidence and
pursuing their educational endeavours. The EEBC strongly believes that children who have adequate
food to nourish their bodies and minds will perform better at school and in the community. Our
Necessities of Life Program also enables parents to provide the basic needs for their children, thus
alleviating the stress from food insecurity.
Our Summer Programs are designed to develop skills in performing and theatrical arts. Another
emphasised component is the physical and mental development through dance, martial arts, artistic
expression, and music. Leadership skills such as investment, real estate, and entrepreneurship prepare
our members with necessary life skills as they approach adulthood.
The three-fold project we are proposing will help our members by providing stability in their home life,
develop leadership skills, self-confidence through participation in our Summer Programs, develop
creative expression and stronger relationships with their mentors and program instructors. We believe
that when a young person is provided with ample opportunities, they have a greater chance of
developing their self-esteem, confidence and making positive life choices.
